<p><br /> Okie C. Boggs, 88, of Ashland, passed away on 10/28/21 at Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility.<br /> He was born April 1, 1933 in Hannah, KY, a son of the late Okie James and Opal Gambill Boggs. In addition to his parents, a brother, Harold Boggs; and a sister, Joyce Dowdy; preceded him in death.<br /> Okie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland, the Shriners and the Elks Lodge 350 BPOE.<br /> He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired following a long 37 year career with Northfork and Southern Railroad. Okie proudly graduated at the age of 45, with a Bachelor&rsquo;s in Accounting from Marshall University in 1978. Okie was an avid Golfer and UK fan. He never met a stranger, and he loved his family beyond measure, he will be remembered by his kind generous spirit.<br /> Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Mary Jordan Boggs of Ashland; son, Nicholas Boggs of Ashland; daughter, Theresa Watts and husband, David of Ashland; Granddaughter Jordan Watts Runnels and her husband Blake; Grandson Cody Watts and his wife Taylor; Granddaughter Samara Boggs; Granddaughter Grace Boggs; Great Grandson Logan Runnels and sister, Carolyn Scott and husband, Dewey of Flatwoods.<br /> A funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Okie Boggs will begin at 1:00 p.m. on November 1, 2021 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with Rev. Jeff Bramel officiating.
