Russell Edward "Eddie" Shank, 81, of Swanton died on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at UPMC Western Maryland in Cumberland. Born on November 21, 1939, in Altamont, he was the son of the late Russell Thomas and Margaret Pauline (Rodeheaver) Shank.

Prior to retirement, Eddie had been an electrician for Consol energy. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Barbara (Romesburg) Shank; three step-children, Eric and wife Amy Uphold; Valerie Glass and husband Mike; Rhonda Carr and Frank Lemley;  ten grandchildren, Jessi, Amber, Autumn, Zach, Jordan, Ashton, Kennedi, Talon, Kendal and Maclin; eleven great grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Johnson and husband Wayne, Linda Riley, Marsha Osekowski and husband Tom and Brenda Buser;  a sister-in-law, Bunny Shank; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel Jane (Barnard) Shank and a brother, James Gordon Shank.

According to his wishes, Eddie was cremated and a memorial service will be held in St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 30, 2021. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM, with the service at 11 AM with Pastor Roger Kitzmiller officiating. MASK WILL BE REQUIRED
