OBITUARY for DEAN EDWIN HAZELTON Dean Edwin Hazelton, age 78, residing in Covington, WA, went home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2021. Dean was BORN on October 17, 1942, in Billings, Montana. He graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Business & Accounting and served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Dean was REBORN into a life with Christ as his Savior in September, 1967. After his service was completed, Dean attended and graduated from Multnomah School of the Bible Grad Program. He was employed in Christian Nonprofit Organizations for over 43 years, beginning with Campus Crusade for Christ, continuing as the Director of Finance at World Literature Crusade (now Every Home for Christ) and culminating in over 30 years of service with World Vision U.S, as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services. During his time at World Vision, Dean participated in the founding of Christian Leadership Alliance, serving as the 3rd President and completing two terms as Chairman of the Board. He also served on the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability standards committee. Dean also volunteered at Seattle Pacific University mentoring business students and coaching teams for the annual Social Venture Plan Competition. Dean married his wife Patricia in 1991 and they spent many years enjoying travels around the U.S and the world. Dean was active in Bible Study Fellowship as a group leader and in his church, Eastridge Baptist in Kent, WA, participating on the Elders Board and leading a small group home Bible Study. Dean also enjoyed hiking and was an avid reader. Dean Hazelton is survived by his wife Patricia Hazelton, son Daniel Hazelton and brother Gordon Hazelton. A Memorial Service will be held at Eastridge Baptist Church, Kent, WA on November 20, 2021 at 2pm.
