Sidney Dambrot
<p>Sidney Dambrot, 90 (1931-2021) passed away peacefully in his home in Copley, Ohio on October 26, 2021.<br /> <br /> Sid was born in New York City and moved to Akron, Ohio in 1958. Sid received his business degree from Duquesne University in 1954, where he was a starter on their nationally ranked basketball team. In 1954, his team was ranked #1 in the country and subsequently lost in the championship game of the NIT, which at that time, was the National Championship. After a brief stint as a lieutenant in the Army, he went on to work in personnel for over 35 years at Ford Motor Company in Cleveland.<br /> <br /> Sid always told people that he was lucky to have had two wonderful wives. His first wife, Faye, passed away in 2000. They were married for 44 wonderful years and Sid and Judi enjoyed the past 20 years together.<br /> <br /> Sid was preceded in death by his parents Estelle and Joseph Dambrot and his brother, Irwin Dambrot.<br /> <br /> He is survived by his loving wife, Judi, his son Keith Dambrot, daughter-in-law Donna and beloved grandchildren, Alysse and Robby. Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Katrin Dambrot and nephew Jonathan Dambrot (Alana).<br /> <br /> In addition, he is survived by Judi's children, Kenny Kodish (Debbie), Kathy Nystrom and Laura Giterman (Eric). Grandchildren Hanna Daniel (James), Eli Nystrom, Kayla Giterman, Orlee, Eitan, Akiva and Eliana Kodish. Great-grandchildren Jupiter and Freya Daniel. Sid's sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joyce and Marty Levin.<br /> <br /> A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2 PM, with Rabbi Josh Brown Officiating. The family will be observing Shiva Thursday 6 to 8 PM at the Dambrot residence.
