Joseph is predeceased by his wife Maizie Manaois; Daughters Kathlene Manaois; Josette “Josie” Manaois; Sisters Consuelo “Connie” (Sakae) Manjiu; Clara Manaois & Cecilia "Cece" (Samuel) Kalalau; Brothers Jaquin (Cindy) Manaois & Vincent Manaois. He is survived by his Sister Remidios "Midy" (Johnny) Eharis; sons Joseph “Sonny Boy” (Judy) Manaois; Nathaniel Pila Manaois; Kent Manaois; George “Keoki” (Ala) Manaois & Daughter Naomi (Earl) Kuailani; Brother Howard Manaois; 12 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren & Numerous Nieces & Nephews. Joseph retired from the Maui Electric Company on January 29, 1999 after 35 years of service. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical workers union (I.B.E.W) for 50 years. He enjoyed spending time with his Ohana & animals, going home to Hana, but would rather be on the ocean or the shoreline for some "Holoholo" action. He would often be seen at Kapueokahi Beach Park (Hana Bay) on the wharf or Kahului Harbor. When not out at his usual "spots," you could find him at home working on an 'upena (throw net). Though he would be greatly missed, his legacy as a provider to his family will continue through each 'upena created by him. Family visitation will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary on October 30, 2021 from 8:00 am - 9:00 am, with public visitation to follow from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Service & Eulogy from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. The Manaois Ohana would like to Mahalo the staff of Hospice Maui; Dr. Nolan Arruda, his PCP and Maui Medical Group Hospitalist; Dr. Cece Choi; Bayada; Dr. Curtis Bekkum; Maui Memorial Medical Center, Emergency room Department & Lanai North Outpatient.
