Michael Nitschke, 55, passed away on Oct. 23, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in
Jersey City, NJ, to Gene and Gail Nitschke, Michael spent his youth playing sports and enjoying time with
cousins and lifelong friends. He graduated from Hudson Catholic High School, and shortly after began a
career with Fed Ex, where he worked for 33 years.
Michael transferred to Arizona in 1992. Within weeks, he met Teri Entrikin, and they wed and moved to
Gilbert in 1995. Two years later, twin boys, Kyle and Connor, were born and became Michael’s pride and
joy. He loved coaching the boys’ sports teams, and became the family “travel agent”, always making
sure his family had great experiences. He loved good food, craft beer, and exploring new breweries.
Attending concerts, and playing classic rock were hobbies. He was a lifelong blood donor, a diehard Jets
fan, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family.
Michael leaves behind his wife of 26 years, his sons, his parents, his brother, Bryan, in laws Ron (Elaine)
Entrikin, Pam Lucatorto, Doug (Lisa) Entrikin, and nephews Chris, Mitch, Griffin, and Dylan, along with
numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life is pending.
