Nora Jane (Johnston) Beam, 81, passed away on October 23, 2021 after a courageous battle with ALS. Born on August 9, 1940 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Dorothy (Powell) Johnston.

Nora was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1958.  She retired from the Niagara Falls Board of Education, where she was employed as a cook.  Nora was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She loved the New York Yankees and traveling with her family. Most of all, Nora loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Nora is survived by children, Suzanne (John) Obusek, Kathleen (Matt) Riscili and Matthew Beam; grandchildren, Kyle, Lauren and Madison Obusek and Andrew and Benjamin Riscili and granddogs, Lacey, Phineas, Miska and Max and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert; a sister, Patricia (living, Peter) Schroeder; a niece, Gretchen Schroeder and her infant son.

The family will be present on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where Nora’s funeral service and life celebration will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.  Professional arrangements are under the care of the Goodlander family.  Share condolences and memories at GOODLANDERCARES.com
