Carol Ann Everett Obituary

Carol Ann Everett, age 78, of Alma passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland with family by her side. She was born December 16, 1942 in Bay City, Michigan the daughter of Ralph C. and Evelyn L. (Copenhaver) Hutchins. After high school, Carol attended Alma College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching in 1964. She married Warren Everett on June 13, 1964 at the Alma College Chapel. Carol taught with Alma Public Schools at Pine Avenue, Hillcrest and the Wright Avenue Schools for a combined 37 years, retiring on June 30, 2008. She was a member of the Alma First Presbyterian Church, Daughter’s of the American Revolution, Alma Women’s Club and P.E.O. She served her community as a past Vice President of the Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bridge and walking her beloved, standard poodle, Dune. Carol treasured her family above all else. Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years, Warren of Alma; her children, Katherine (Jerry) Kirkey of Fenton, Kirk (Rebecca Dishotsky) Everett of Redwood City, CA; five grandchildren: Olivia, Logan and Liza Kirkey, Sophie and Abigail Everett; and a brother, John (Kathy) Hutchins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Evelyn Hutchins. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11 am at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home with Pastor Katrina Pekich-Bundy, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Alma. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6-8pm and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of services.
