BARAGA, MI – Craig C. Girard, age 67, of Baraga, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at his home, with his loving wife by his side. Craig was born September 1, 1954 to Clifton and Beatrice Girard in Flint, Michigan and moved to Marquette with his family when he was a teenager. He attended Marquette Senior High School. He enlisted in the US Navy, serving on the USS Detroit and, following his tours and honorable discharge, returned to Marquette. Craig married the former Beverly Madosh and together the couple made their home in Marquette where they had their five children, Melissa, Chad, Craig Jr (CJ), Jessica (Yo), and Nicholas. Craig was employed with Adult Learning Systems for 28 years as a direct care worker, earning the Governor’s Award of Excellence for the loving care he provided to the residents who loved him dearly. In his spare time, Craig enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing his guitar. He was a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions football team and Tigers baseball. He also enjoyed karaoke where he was nicknamed “Rock n Roll Girardo” because he loved music and guitar. Craig will be remembered for his witty sense of humor he shared with everyone who knew him. Craig is survived by his wife, Beverly (Anna) Girard; son, Craig Jr, daughter, Jessica, and son, Nicholas; sisters Cheryl and Tina; brother-in-law, Lou; and four grandchildren, Leonard, Joseph, Stephan, and Chantel; and his many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Beatrice; sister, Pam; a daughter, Melissa, and son, Chad. Private family services will be held.
