David Wayne Maness's suffering ended and he went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1953 to Dorothy Louise Crisp and James Zaydoc Maness. After graduating Baker High School in 1971, he proudly joined the army where he became a Cryptologist and served in Vietnam and Korea. He was a loving husband and father who always put the needs of others before his own. He loved hunting with his buddies, fishing, and painting. He will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 from 10:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm conducted by Fr. Chuck Swanson. Burial will be in Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Sally Maness. Children, Ben Maharrey, Crystal Maharrey, J'Dee Maness, Lance Aulds (Marian), Vance Sones, and Sarah Fall. 7 grandchildren, Austin Maharrey, Landon Maharrey, Rowan Oxford, Emily Maness, Jessie Fall, Leanna Aulds, and Cameron; and a great grandchild, Ada Phelps. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Maness and siblings, Donnie and Bunny. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Disabled American Veterans Charity.
