Richard Laing, age 89 went to meet his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2021. He was born in Marshall, Michigan to Art and Elva (Briegel) Laing. Richard enjoyed building his retirement home for he and his wife Evie in Manistique, Michigan. They moved to Manistique from Augusta after 16 years. Richard and Evie also loved to winter in Florida. He also had a passion for John Deere and the outdoors. Evie and Richard were married for 47 loving years. Richard also loved to play golf, he even tried to teach his wife how to play. Richard was also a handyman. If there was anything that someone needed fixed, he was able to. Richard also served two years in the United States Navy. Richard is survived by his wife, Evie; his step daughter, Laura (Frank) Holmberg; sister, Pricilla Boakes; niece, Karen Boake; his special nephew, Kent Hynes Jr. and two daughters from a previous marriage. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and step son, Roger Martin. The family would like to say a special thank you to Richard's Bronson in home care nurse, Tina Baines and Glenn Arbor Hospice for their kindness and care they gave to Richard.
