Roy Fletcher Obituary

 

On the morning of October 22, 2021 Roy James Fletcher passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital surrounded by his family.  Born to Viola and James Fletcher on September 10, 1948.  Roy was the eldest of their seven children.  He attended North Park School and then completed his education at the Saskatoon Technical Collegiate.  After graduation Roy moved to Moose Jaw where he completed a year of a bookkeeping course.  With the passing of his father in 1971. Roy returned to Saskatoon to help raise his younger siblings.  He worked as bookkeeper at several companies over the years before his health declined and he was no longer able to work.  The last three years of Roy’s life were spent at the Sunnyside Care Home where he made many good friends among the residents and the staff.  Roy was predeceased by his brother Lyle in 1965, his father James in 1971, mother Viola in 1998, brother Colin in 1999, and his brother Norman in 2008.  Left to mourn him are his sisters Dianna and Gloria, his brother Donald and his sister-in-law Janet.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Sunnyside Adventist Care Home for the care given to Roy during his time there.  In lieu of flowers or cards, donations appreciated to a charity of your choice may be made in Roy’s memory.  The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Grace Westminister United Church (505-10th St. E.) in Saskatoon.  To view the service please go to www.gracewest.ca  to find the livestream link. Arrangements are in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
