Reeds Springs: John Knapp, 60, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Springfield.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 29, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Rush Springs, with Rev. Chris Stinnett officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.


The family will be accepting visitors on Thursday, October 28, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel in Rush Springs.


John Knapp, surrounded by his loved ones, passed away in Springfield, MO on Thursday, October 21, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer.


John was born March 19, 1961 in Wichita Falls, TX. Son to Gene and Joyce Knapp. He was one of seven siblings. A kindhearted man that everyone was drawn to after meeting. John had a special place in his heart for all close to him, especially his family, which he cherished more than anything. He had a passion for cooking and was a phenomenal chef creating delicious dishes out of nothing well before Iron Chef was a thing. His favorite hobbies were fishing and gardening, and indeed were his escape to relax.


John is survived by his wife, Teri Knapp, daughter, Tina Beckett, grandson, Cole Beckett, granddaughter LilliAnn Becket, son, Schuyler Knapp, grandson, Seth Knapp, granddaughters, Cameron Knapp, Skylee Knapp, Cayden Knapp, and Selena Knapp, great-granddaughter on the way, Tatum Knapp, Father, Gene Knapp, sisters, Julie Woods, and Jackie Dyer, brothers, Joe Knapp, Tim Knapp, and Chris Knapp, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his fur buddy Okie, and many many dear friends.


He is preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Knapp, sister, Sheila Kay Knapp, and niece, Elaine Jordan.




Pallbearers will be: John Pyle, Dustin Pyle, George Knapp, Collin Knapp, Dawson Knapp, and Cole Beckett
