Janie Louise Rawls

Janie Louise "Jane" Etheredge Rawls, 83, of Leroy, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Leroy on March 3, 1938 to Julian Etheredge and Margie Garris Etheredge. A member of The First Baptist Church of Leroy, she was a lifelong homemaker, but she worked tirelessly with her husband, Glan, on their Black Angus Farm. She and Glan were inseparable and often attended cattle sales together. She enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, cooking, sewing, quilting and dancing. She was a loving, giving person who was devoted to her family.<br>She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glan Rawls; son, Glan Rawls, Jr.; grandson, Stephen Clay Carpenter; great-grandchild, Aiden Grey Duke and son-in-law, Stephen Ray Carpenter.<br>She is survived by the love of her daughters, Jo Roxanne Rawls, Tracey Jane Carpenter (James) Roney; grandchildren, Morgain Elizabeth Carpenter (John Jacob) Garrett, Julian Grey (Danielle Marie) Carpenter, Raechel Jane (Calvin) Bosarge, William Taylor Rawls (Katherine Elizabeth) Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Evan William Galan Garrett, Jack Avery McDaniel Garrett, Grant Elijah Jacob Garrett, Lilly Jane Carpenter, Julian Grey Carpenter; Calvin "Tripp" Bosarge, III, Colton Clay Carpenter; step-grandchildren, James Henry Roney, Jon Hunter Roney; siblings, Judy (Ross) Thomas, Carolyn (Elwood) Overstreet, Margie (Joe) Overstreet and numerous other relatives and friends.<br>Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at The First Baptist Church of Leroy with the Revs. Ben Posey and Dave Delegal officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the Old Leroy Baptist Cemetery (adjacent to the church).<br>Pallbearers will be Calvin Bosarge, Jr., Mark Harrell, Andy Kieth, Elwood Overstreet, Tripp Overstreet and Zachary Thornton.<br>Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School class at The First Baptist Church of Leroy, Sonya Trailer and Constance Tolbert.<br>Condolences may be offered at www.lathanfuneralhome.com.<br>
