Juanita Theresa Garcia

Juanita Theresa Garcia (Jenny), age 78 of Albuquerque, NM passed away October 19, 2021, with her loving daughter, Donna by her side as she made her transition into God’s Heavenly Kingdom. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Amalia Romero and her beloved husband Raymond Garcia. She is survived by her two daughters, Rita Marie (Donnie) Cordova, Donna Ray (Bill) Bailey, son, Thomas Tran, cherished grandchildren, Cody (Marissa) Cordova, Marco Tran (Vanessa Tsai), Mikey Tran (Serena Merzweiler) and Kayann Cordova, all of Albuquerque, NM; numerous loving cousins, friends and her life-long friend Bebe Cornay of Folsom, NM. Juanita was born on August 24, 1943, in Dawson, NM and grew up in Raton, NM. She attended St. Patrick’s School and graduated from Mount Loretto Catholic High School, an all-girls Catholic school, run by the Sisters of Mercy in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After high school, she attended Draughon’s Business College in Santa Fe, NM. She worked for the NM State Police Department, Department of Corrections and retired from Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Juanita met her soul-mate Ray Garcia in Albuquerque. They moved to Raton to raise their two daughters. They returned to Albuquerque in 1986 where they enjoyed spending time together until Ray’s untimely death in 1998. Juanita loved her girls, their husbands, and grandchildren with her whole heart. She loved going to the Casinos, watching basketball, CNN, the History and Discovery Channels. She also loved Facebook and talking to her cousins on the phone every evening. We will miss her grand love, advice, laughter, feistiness and of course her sopapillas and biscochitos! A private memorial and mass will take place in November.
