Giuseppe “Joey, Joe” Stabile of West Harrison, New York, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Joey was born in San Rufo, Salerno, Italy, to the Giovanni (deceased) and Maria (LaVecchia) Stabile. He is the eldest to his brothers Carmine and John. Joey immigrated to the United States at the age of four and grew up in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx. He was proud of his heritage and eventually added being an American citizen to his demographics.
Joe graduated from Stevenson High School in the Bronx. He pursued educational interests in architecture and nursing, but committed his career to Atalanta Corporation in Elizabeth, NJ. After 25+ years of service, Joey retired his miles as a truck driver in 2019. Friends will always remember his yellow “swiss cheese” Finlandia truck. Joey loved his job and made many acquaintances through his deliveries in the Tristate area.
Joe had pastimes of oldies music, cooking, and tinkering with his cars. He frequented Arthur Avenue and always brought his daughters and grandchildren back delicious goodies. He was a jokester with his son-in-law’s, sharing his great smile and infectious laugh. Joe never passed up an opportunity to tell a story or share the latest breaking news.
Joe is survived by his three devoted daughters, Christina Kyc, a clinical social worker, and her husband Abraham of Clearwater, FL, Jennifer Goncalves, a preschool teacher and her husband Steven of Westchester, NY and Anjuli Walker, a high school teacher and her husband Albert of New York City. Joe has four beautiful grandchildren, Alyssa, Jayson, Ayden and Ava. He was the beloved uncle of Brittany, John and Carmine and great-uncle of Antonio. Joe valued his family and his dedication to them was immeasurable. He will be missed.
