<p>Michele M. Sheppick, 45, of Sanford, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.&nbsp; Born in Winchester, Massachusetts on February 3, 1976, she was raised in North Woburn, Massachusetts.&nbsp;She attended the Woburn School System and then graduated from Woburn High School in 1994.&nbsp; Following graduation, she enlisted in the United States Army.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Following her brief time in the US Army, she was employed for many years by the Town of Wilmington, Massachusetts as an EMT, then as an Emergency Dispatcher.&nbsp; In early 2002 during a brief vacation to visit a friend in Utah, she fell in love with the majestic beauty of the National Parks, mountains, canyons, rivers, and landscape. Upon her return from vacation, she promptly packed up her belongings, rented a U-Haul and began her 2,400-mile journey cross-country to a small town outside of Salt Lake City named Ogden. Shortly after settling into her new life, she met the man of her dreams and love of her life, Matt.&nbsp; She started her career there as a Deputy Clerk for the US District Court/District of Utah in Salt Lake City, then as a Judicial Assistant for the US State Court in Weber County Utah.&nbsp; Michele was very passionate about furthering her career and received her degree in Criminal Justice from Eagle Gate College in Layton, Utah in 2008.&nbsp; Matt and Michelle lived in Utah for 14 years before relocating back to the east coast and settling here in Sanford in 2017.&nbsp; Michele had most recently been employed by the York County, Maine District Attorney&rsquo;s Office as a Legal Secretary.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michele had a passionate zest for life. She loved everything to do with the outdoors; the ocean and collecting rocks and sea glass, kayaking, fishing, exploring nature, camping and traveling with Matt and their 2 dogs in their camper, most recently to the Grand Teton National Park.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Michele is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Matthew G. Sheppick of Sanford. Her parents, Alphonse and Marcia (Venuti) DeLeo of Sanford and her mother-in-law Jan Alene Sheppick of&nbsp;Roosevelt,&nbsp;Utah.&nbsp; Her sister Melissa and her partner Jon of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and her 2 sisters-in-law Sara Meyers and husband&nbsp;Joe,&nbsp;and Nicole Rasmussen and her husband Clint all of&nbsp;Bluebell,&nbsp;Utah. She is also survived by nieces, Eva, Cassidy and Tylee, nephew Caden, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins in Massachusetts, Maine and Utah. She is also survived by her two loving puppies, Maggie and Odin.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, October 26th from 4 to 8 pm at the Carll-Heald &amp; Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.&nbsp; A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at the funeral home at 11AM.&nbsp;&nbsp;Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Condolences may be expressed at&nbsp;www.blackfuneralhomes.com&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
