Sylvia Honeycutt Carpenter, 82, of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Oak Ridge Health and Rehab Center. Sylvia was born on August 18, 1939 in El Dorado, AR to the late Blanche Reynolds Honeycutt and Robert Austin “Bob” Honeycutt. Sylvia was a native of Springhill, LA and was a 1957 graduate of Springhill High School. Sylvia worked for First National Bank, later became Bancorp South, from where she retired, after twenty plus years of service. Sylvia was a member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church and was an avid cat lover. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Scott “Bill” Carpenter; step son, Mike Carpenter; two brothers, Dean Honeycutt, and Lyle Honeycutt; nephew, Mark Honeycutt and her latest Feline companion, Peaches. Survivors include; her two sisters-in-law, Jo Honeycutt of Parkers Chapel, and Doretta Honeycutt of Riverside, NJ; three nephews, Kenny Honeycutt of Riverside, Tracy Honeycutt and wife Brenda of Lawson, and Greg Honeycutt of Parkers Chapel; two great nephews, Austin Honeycutt and wife Linley, Clayton Honeycutt; one great niece, Kelsey Honeycutt; three great, great nieces, Kenlee, Maddie and Stella Honeycutt, all of Parkers Chapel; former step daughter-in-law, Gwynn Carpenter of Edmond, OK; special friend, Carolyn Boyd of El Dorado, along with numerous special cousins and friends. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Larry Hudson Officiating. A private burial will take place at Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR. The family would like to say a special thank you to Sylvia’s nurses and Aid’s at Oak Ridge for their compassion and Care given to Sylvia during her stay.
