Charles William "Bill" Reel, Jr.

Charles William “Bill” Reel, Jr., age 68 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Saturday morning, October 23, 2021 at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, WV. He was born Friday, December 12, 1952 at Elkins, WV a son of the late Charles William Reel, Sr. and Phyllis Irene Kyle Reel. On September 1, 2006 at Fairfax, VA he was married to the former Marieta Saavedra, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William Brian Reel and wife Carrie of Stanley, VA, Isaac Samuel Reel and Noah Timothy Reel, both of Elkins; one daughter, Jennifer Irene Clark and husband Curtis of Annapolis, MD; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are two brothers, James “Jim” Reel, and Richard “Dick” Reel; and one sister, Virginia “Lou” Currence. Bill was a graduate of Coalton High School, had worked for the WV Department of Transportation, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and William A. Hazel Inc. as a Heavy Equipment Operator and later for Solutions Communication, installing fiber optic cable. He loved to talk, and was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Bill went on several mission trips to other countries including Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, and many others. He was a part of KAIROS Prison ministries, and loved helping people. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Elkins and loved his church and church family. The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 6 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11 AM. The Reverend Brian Seders and the Reverend Jim Murphy will officiate and interment will follow at the Rowan Memorial Cemetery at Mabie, WV.
