Charles "Roger" Norwood Born February 10, 1939, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the son of Charlie and Dolly Ruie Norwood, Roger left this earth on October 21, 2021, to be with his Lord, whom he devotedly served. Roger graduated from Arvin High School in 1956. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. He was a stockbroker for over 30 years. He then retired. Four years later, he joined the staff of First Assembly of God as Minister of Drama where he wrote and produced many scripturally based plays and skits. He became an Assembly of God minister serving some 12 years at BFA. It was during this time he met his "darlin' Cynde" and they married in 2013. Roger is survived by his wife, Cynde, daughter, Casey Martinez, son-in-law, Richard Martinez, grandsons, Caleb Williford and Carter Martinez, and stepson, Andrew Kent. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Norwood. Roger will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Roger's life will take place Saturday, November 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Bakersfield First Assembly of God Church, 4901 California Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution to BFA's Missionary Assistance Program (MAPS).
