Kari Lynn Hocum Worland, Wyoming Obituary

Kari Lynn Hocum

Kari Lynn (Brown) Hocum, 47, passed away October 19, 2021, at 6:45 PM surrounded by family and love ones. Kari passed away from complications from her diabetes and unknown causes. At the time of Kari's death, she was living in Gillette, Wyoming. Kari was born on June 24, 1974, in Worland, Wyoming to the parents of Richard C. and Pamela K. (Strohman) Brown. Kari grew up in Worland and later settled in Gillette. She attended college (Northwest) in Powell. She had a big heart and would do anything for anyone, not asking for anything in return. She managed Pizza Hut for many years. Kari married the love of her life, Timothy Hocum in June of 2018. Together they started their own cab company, naming it “The Other Cab" in Gillette. Kari had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews; they were the kids she never had. She loved to play cards, games, fishing, doing arts and crafts, hanging out with her family, and spending time with her husband “Kracker” (Timothy). She spent a lot of time playing video games online with her nephew Austin. She was always a kid at heart. She was fun loving and carefree; not caring what the world thought but living in the moment. Kari always had a wild side to her. Growing up in Worland not many people could tell a story that didn't involve one of the Brown girls, namely Kari. She was a wonderful daughter even if she and her parents butted heads at times because of the stubbornness and strong will that runs in the family. She truly had a wonderful personality. She was a good big sister, teaching them, at a young age, never to snitch. Not sure how many spankins’ were given because they never told on each other (sorry mom and dad you will never know who cut that fabric). “We know in our hearts that you are in a better place and not suffering or in pain. We love you CAREBEAR... till we meet again... love always, your baby sister's DANIELLE AND ROBYN and MOM AND DAD love you, too.” Kari was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Herman, and Dorothy Strohman; paternal grandparents, Richard C. and Louetta Brown; many aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Kari is survived by her husband, Timothy; parents, Richard and Pam Brown; sisters: Danielle (Pedra) Brown and Robyn Brown; nephews: Aaron, Jayden and Austin; nieces: Shaphan, Aliza, Elianna, Olivia and Mariana. Please join the family on Saturday, October 23, 2021, for a celebration of life/wake at the Sundance Lounge in Gillette, WY From 12 noon to 3 PM (12-3pm is so that children underage can celebrate Kari's life and what she meant to them). After 3 PM, Kracker would like everyone to join him at Lakeside Bar at the beach. Please feel free to come to both or just one. We, as a family, are looking forward to the time when we will all be reunited. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com
