Clifton "Cliff" Douglas Hodnett

Our Heavenly Father called his faithful servant, Clifton “Cliff” Douglas Hodnett home on October 21, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, “Papa”, brother-in-law and uncle who was a Prayer Warrior if there ever was one. He was born on May 2, 1940 to Lenwood E. Hodnett and Edith Hodnett, both deceased. He lost his mother at 18 months and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Jacob B. Hardy and Emma L. Hardy. He married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Judith “Judy” Clark Hodnett, on June 20,1959. They spent 62 wonderful years together and grew their family with addition of two daughters, Gwendolyn Anderson (Steve) and Jennifer Frazier (Matt), two grandchildren, Ryan Anderson (Stephanie) and Julianne Breedlove, and three great grandchildren, Baron, Finley and Henry Anderson. He was a proud Hokie and graduate of Virginia Tech in 1962. He began his career at Dan River as an internal auditor and systems analyst/computer programmer. He spent 27 years in Information Systems Management positions at Westinghouse/ABB. Over the years he was an active member of North Main Baptist Church, serving in many leadership roles. Upon retirement, his focus was serving his Lord and Savior and others through his involvement with NMBC, the Dan River Emmaus Community, KAIROS Prison Ministry at Greenrock Correctional Center, the International Gideons, Crossroads Christian Counseling Center and his various Email Ministries. He was also a member of the Danville Gideons, Optimist Club, and Improved Order of the Redmen Poquoson Tribe #124. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 24th at 1:30pm and the service will follow at 2:30pm at Norris Funeral Home Services, Inc. and Crematory, Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Tpke., Danville, VA and other times at the residence. The family suggests in lieu of flowers to consider a donation to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 3371, Danville, VA 24543 or the Building Fund at North Main Baptist Church, 2818 North Main Street, Danville, VA 24540. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. & Crematory, Mt.
