Dick Larsen, 83, of Afton, died Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Ringsted, Ia., where Dick will be buried by his parents. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com. Dick Willis Larsen, son of Peter Christian Larsen and Ferne Ethel (Larson) Larsen, was born on December 31, 1937, in Iowa. He graduated from Armstrong-Ringsted High School with the class of 1956. While in Armstrong and Ringsted area, Dick worked at Art’s Way Manufacturing and also was a John Deere mechanic. In 1998, Dick met Marcia Winther, and they were united in marriage August 15, 1998. They lived together in Ringsted for a couple of years before moving to Afton in 2000. Together they farmed and tended to their livestock. While residing in Ringsted, Dick was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Dick is survived by his wife, Marcia of Afton; three children; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; four step-sons; 16 step-grandchildren and one sister Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
