<p>Merilyn Hunt (Samuelson)</p> <p>83, passed away on October 17, 2021. She was the wife of the late Douglas Hunt.</p> <p>Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Marion Samuelson (Peckham).&nbsp;Merilyn was a longtime resident of East Providence. She graduated from East Providence High School in 1957. Merilyn, or Sammy as family and friends called her, was a homemaker most of her life. Over her lifetime, she resided in both the Riverside and Central East Providence sections of the city with her family.</p> <p>Merilyn was known throughout her adult life for her helpfulness to others and care of neighbors and friends, especially the elderly. She was an avid animal lover who in her free time enjoyed conversation and coffee with her close friends. In retirement, Merilyn spent her time with friends and family.</p> <p>She is survived by her sons, Matthew Hunt and his wife Kimberly of Chepachet, Christopher Hunt and his wife Lisa of N. Scituate, Scott Hunt and his wife Heather of Seekonk; her grandchildren Michael, Samantha, Sydney, Sadie, Gavin, and Addison; her great-grandchild Leviathan; and her sister Linda McArdel&nbsp; of Park City, UT.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Calling hours will be held October 25, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM in Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Ave. Riverside, R.I. 02915 followed by a service at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gate Of Heaven cemetery&nbsp;550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, RI 02915.</p> <p><br /> <strong>*To keep our staff and the families we serve safe and healthy face masks are required&nbsp;in the funeral home.</strong><br /> &nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Merilyn Hunt (Samuelson)

83, passed away on October 17, 2021. She was the wife of the late Douglas Hunt.
