Pauline Lee Lawhead Obituary


 Pauline Lee Lawhead, 91, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021.  She was born June 29, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Virgil and Mary Jane (Hayden) Ballard.  
       Pauline received her GED and later earned her LPN on August 23, 1984 and worked in health care.  Pauline and Richard Lee Lawhead married in Okmulgee on February 14, 1948. Their marriage was blessed with two children.  She lovingly cared for her disabled husband for 34 years. She adored her family and was an unselfish caregiver. Her life goal was to see all her children and grandchildren know the Lord as their Savior. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church in Muskogee. 
       Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard, on September 6, 1982; brother, Ray Ballard and sister, Clara Hudspeth. She is survived by her son, Richard Curtis Lawhead and wife Vickie of Oologah, OK; daughter, Sharon Kay Freeling and husband David Freeling of Oktaha, OK; and sister, Virgie Formby.  She was lovingly known as Nan by 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
       Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Hunn Funeral Home in Checotah.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Southeast Baptist Church in Muskogee with Rev. Monte Humphrey officiating.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Richard Lawhead, Richard A. Lawhead, Brad Stonebarger, Nate Stonebarger, Jake Stonebarger, Hannah Stonebarger, Jason Linzy and David Freeling.
