<p>Appling - Mrs. Gloria Jean Kelly, 86, died Thursday, October 21, 2021, at her residence.</p> <p>A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. in the Family Life Center of Sharon Baptist Church, with Rev. Andy Collins officiating.&nbsp; The family will receive friends starting at 12 p.m., in the Family Life Center.</p> <p>Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her husband, Stacy Kelly and a son, Russell Kelly.&nbsp; She is survived by her children; Robert Gordon (Dee), Ken Gordon, Jean Gordon Giles, Pat Kelly (Donnie), Richard Kelly (Jackie), Tony Gordon (Lynn), Tricia Gordon Korenoff (Alan), and Bob Gordon; her special friend, Mama Mary Willingham; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.</p> <p>She became a nurse in 1973 and worked at University Hospital in Augusta.&nbsp; She loved being with her family, cooking, and sharing stories.&nbsp; She loved all people unconditionally and never judged anyone.&nbsp; She was not afraid to learn new things and taught her kids the same.&nbsp; She loved God and discussing the Bible.&nbsp; She also loved gardening, which included vegetables, herbs, plants and flowers.&nbsp; She loved reading all kinds of books and loved animals; having raised cats, dogs, fish, birds and chickens.&nbsp; She was a true Southern genteel lady that did life her way.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sharon Baptist Church or to Homestead Hospice.</p> <p>You may sign a guest book at the funeral home or online at www.curtisfuneralhome.com</p> <p>Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
