Funeral services for Dorthy Dobberstein age 87 of Topeka, KS formerly of West Point, NE will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Beemer, NE with Pastor Robert Mayes officiating. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue one hour prior to service at the church.<br/><br/>Dorthy Jean Dobberstein, 87, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021.<br/>Born July 29th, 1934 in Beemer, Nebraska to Frank & Agnes Schmoldt (Kirch). She was baptized & confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Beemer. She married Jerry Tomrdle on June 29, 1952 and had 4 children. She later moved to Omaha, Ne where she would marry Bernie Dobberstein in 1977. They later settled in North Platte, Ne. <br/><br/>Dorthy lived in Topeka since 2010 and retired from her most favorite job just 3 short years ago where she worked at Walmart in the Deli Department.<br/><br/>She dearly loved and found the greatest joys in life when she was surrounded by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and loved ones.<br/><br/>Survivors include one brother, Lorvy Schmoldt of Syracuse, Nebraska; her children and their spouses: Greg & Nance Tomrdle of Hooper, Ne, Marty & Cyndi Tomrdle of Bellevue, Ne, Jeanette & John Driscoll of Topeka, Ks; daughter-in-law, Jacque Tomrdle of Colorado Springs, Co., along with several nieces & nephews, 11 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.<br/><br/>She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Agnes Schmoldt, one son, Bruce Tomrdle on February 27, 1990, husband Bernie Dobberstein, brother, Burton Schmoldt and sister, Fern Schlake.<br/><br/>Dorthy's family will receive friends from 11:30am-1:30pm, Monday, October 25, 2021 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.

Dorthy Jean Dobberstein, 87, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Born July 29th, 1934 in Beemer, Nebraska to Frank & Agnes Schmoldt (Kirch). She was baptized & confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Beemer.
