Margaret "Ellen" Stevenson

In Belleville, on October 20th, 2021. Ellen Stevenson, 88, was welcomed into heaven and joyously reunited with Gerald, the love of her life and husband of 50 years, and her beloved parents, Keith and Clara Young. She was devoted to her faith, her family, the church, and her friends through a lifetime of Christian ministry and service. Gerald and Ellen pastored churches in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia and served as missionaries in Kenya and Malawi. Blessed with a loving family, Ellen was a proud mother of daughter Heather (Brent) Seres and beloved son Tim (Colleen) of Kampala, Uganda. Loving grandmother of Megan (Anant), Emily (Graeme), Tiffany (Morgan), Natasha (Matthew), Jesse and Logan (Jessica), and great grandmother to five precious treasures. Survived by her dear brother, Rev. Earl Young & wife Sandy of Sarasota, Florida. Lovingly remembered by the extended Stevenson family and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Westgate Lodge in Belleville for their consistently compassionate care for Ellen, especially over the past several months. Visitation will be held at Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville, (613-968-2273), on Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m., with Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Those wishing to attend the visitation and/or service are asked to register by emailing: rsvp@steelefuneralhome.ca or by calling the Funeral Home, between the hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. A Private Graveside Service is to take place the following day at Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be considered to further Ellen’s heart for missions in Uganda https://fararelief.com/donate The service will be Live-streamed for those not able to attend in person. Heather, Tim and family - sorry to hear of this news. Always a favourite aunt to us all! Was always an encouragment to me in pastoral ministry - but most all off, loved her laughter and stories!!
