Margaret Norma Schade Obituary

Schade, Margaret Norma (nee Fleming): It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Margaret Schade. Born on May 27, 1944 and passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital at the age of 77. Beloved wife of the late Carl Schade. Loving Mom of Keith, Kelly (Tracey), and Cheryl. Cherished Grammy of Melissa, Hailey and Jorja. Survived by her sisters-in-law Adele Fleming and Karen Schade and sister and brother-in-law Helen and Doug Thompson. Predeceased by her parents, Dolly and Frank Fleming, brother Tom Fleming, sister Lily Cole, brother-in-law Art Cole, brothers-in-law Wayne, Don, and Graham Schade, and sisters-in- law Dorothy and Kathy Schade. Mom will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Mom was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She met the love of her life, Carl, and they were married on November 23, 1963, and settled into their first home on Ward’s Island, where they lived and raised their two sons, Keith and Kelly for a number of years. They loved island life, spending time at the beach, and the many social activities that took place on the island. A few years after Cheryl was born, they moved to Kitchener where they lived out the remainder of their years together. Mom was a devoted wife and caring Mom. In her early days, she worked at the Royal Bank in Toronto, however, once she and Carl began a family, she left the workforce to stay home and care for the family. Mom enjoyed many years at our family home in Kitchener, spent by the pool, and tending to her gardens. She enjoyed the outdoors, and the many camping trips we went on as a family. Mom loved her sports, especially watching her Jays games. In more recent days, she enjoyed reading and doing word puzzles, but mostly, spending time with her loved ones. She enjoyed attending bible study with her dear friends Birgit and Beth at KW Christian Fellowship and was a faithful believer of the Lord. Margaret's family will receive relatives and friends from 12-12:45 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener. Funeral Service in the chapel on Monday at 1 p.m. Please note that if you plan to attend the visitation or the service, masks are mandatory and you must RSVP your attendance through the funeral home website or by calling (519) 749-8467. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
