Donielle Lynne Dodson of Ottawa passed this world peacefully at Olathe Hospice after a long brave battle with Cancer on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Throughout her life, she never lost her warm sensitivity to others and soft heart.

She was born February 12, 1967 to Bob and Sue (Patridge) Dodson in Kansas City. The family moved to Ottawa in 1969, and she attended Ottawa schools, OHS class of 1985. She attended the University of Kansas, and later the FIDM Los Angeles, CA, and classes as an adult in IT and real estate. She worked in IT and web design at Dodson International, Dodson Aviation, and Franklin County Mental Health.

Later she sustained her passion to help others through a career in real estate. She grew to become a respected broker, a board leader, and business owner.

Donielle showed her commitment to her community by serving on city committees and being an active member of the Rotary.

Donielle was equally passionate about her two children and her desire to provide them a safe, happy childhood. Due to life's challenges, this was not easy but she never let go of the vision and did everything she could for them. Even during her painful last days, she was happiest when she could prepare dinner for her household.  She continued to hold onto hope to be there for her children.

Donielle loved music, flowers, art, friends, and travel - especially to the beach. Most of all, she loved her children. She is survived by her daughter, Georgia Summers of Kansas City, MO; son, Hal Summers of Ottawa, KS; Father Bob  (Pam) Dodson of Ottawa, KS; Brother, JR Dodson (Kloria) of Olathe KS; and nephews, Nicholas Dodson of Austin, TX and Dilon Dodson of Overland Park; sister, Janet Karasch Le Center Minnesota; uncles & aunts, Jerry & Faye Patridge of Trenton MO, Tommie & Tonia Patridge of Trenton, MO; and Keith & Nancy Patridge of McAllen, TX; many cousins, including Elmer Dodson of Ottawa, and many beloved friends; and her partner and soulmate Steve Kornspan of Overland Park; her dog, Lovie, and cat, Sweetie.

To celebrate Donielle’s life, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S. Hickory, Ottawa, KS 66067.  A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 325 S.
