Pamela Sue Phares, 76, Wellsville, KS, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at AdventHealth, Shawnee Mission, KS. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S Center, Gardner, KS. 66030 (913-856-7111). Pamela was born in Rantoul, Kansas on July 25, 1945 to James and Bettie (Hilton) Phares. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, graduating from Wellsville High School in 1964. Pamela attended Wellsville Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School Class. She was a volunteer at Wellsville Historic Society. Pamela’s favorite past-times were gardening, fishing, camping and bird watching. Pamela was employed by K-Mart Distribution Center in Lawrence, KS. as a replenishment stock worker for 32 years. Pamela enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and close friends. She will be dearly missed. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Monty Guy Phares. She is survived her son James Phares, Wellsville, KS; daughter Anita Crist and husband Dennis, Wellsville, KS; sister Leslie Taylor, Baldwin City, KS; brother Mike Phares; 5 grandchildren: Jake, Jessica, Kelly, Michael and Jeff and 11 great-grandchildren.
