Lorna Gayle Hillian

Rev. Dr. Lorna Gayle Hillian (nee Raper) passed away on Saturday, October 16 at age 82 at Springdale. She is pre-deceased by her husband George Hillian, her parents Lloyd and Helen Raper, infant siblings Diane and Robert, sister Carol Bosnell- Northcott, and niece Wendy Dionne. She is survived by her brother Jerry Raper and his wife, Anne; nephews, Dean Bosnell, Scott Bosnell, Mark Bosnell and Jay Rayner, and nieces, Kim Bolton, Shelley Slobodian, and Rebecca Raper-Gutknecht, cousin Marian Allison and George's children Fraser, Douglas, John and Suzanne Hillian, Grandchildren Sandra, Fiona, Aisling, Michael, Emma and Matthew, and great-grandchildren Talia, Sage, Nolan, Charlotte, Ben, Frances and Owen. Lorna devoted her life to Christian ministry, first with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship as a faith counselor, then as a Presbyterian minister, serving in Toronto at Albion Gardens, and in Kelowna, BC. at St. David's and later First United. She earned her doctorate in divinity from Knox College, Toronto. The family thanks the staff at Springdale Country Manor for their exceptional care. A service of remembrance will be held at St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, 1140 St. Paul's St., Peterborough at a later date. Burial will follow in Kelowna, BC.
