<p>After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Francis John Capone died peacefully surrounded by his family. The son of Dr. Anthony J. and Doris (nee Calamari) Capone, Frank was born in Queens, NY on January 30, 1958. The family moved to Poughkeepsie in 1965 from Brooklyn, NY.</p><p>Frank graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1976. And was a loyal brother of the Iona College Sigma Delta Phi Fraternity.</p><p>Frank worked for 25 years for Royal Carting and has been the director of St. Denis Cemetery for the last seven years.</p><p>Frank was a devout Catholic. He was a parishioner of St. Denis Church, Hopewell Junction, NY where he was a member of the men’s club. Prior to his illness, Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus. </p><p>An avid golfer and life-long baseball fan, Frank coached his son, Anthony’s baseball team, loved the Yankees and was the Chairman of the inaugural committee for the Hudson Valley Renegades Stadium Corp. Frank served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce. </p><p>On, May 12, 2009 Frank married Maureen B. Lashlee, she survives at home in Poughkeepsie. Frank is also survived by three loving children, Christina M. Capone, NYC, Danielle E. (Miles) Hansen, PK, NY, Anthony L. (fiancé Eileen Globokiar) Capone Rye, NY. Seven cherished grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Kevin, Ryan, Jack, Brooke and Kate. His brothers and sister, Michael Capone, Las Vegas, NV, Steven (Phyllis) Capone, PK, NY, Carolyn (Ken) Savacchio, Kings Park, Long Island, Christopher (Jill) Capone, Salt Point, NY, five nieces and nephews, many beloved cousins, and countless friends.</p><p>Frank was a talented carpenter, opening a handyman business prior to his illness and generously donated his skills to neighbors and friends in need, including untold hours to Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County. </p><p>Calling hours will be from 2-6 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 at William G. Miller &amp; Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. </p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Denis Church, Hopewell Jct., NY on Monday October 25, 2021 at 11:30 AM. Obituary

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Francis John Capone died peacefully surrounded by his family. The son of Dr. Anthony J. and Doris (nee Calamari) Capone, Frank was born in Queens, NY on January 30, 1958. The family moved to Poughkeepsie in 1965 from Brooklyn, NY.
