Larry Robert Durrant or known by family and close friends as Moe, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on October 19, 2021. 

Larry was born June 17,1935 to LeRoy and Vera Durrant in Echo, Utah where he grew up. He graduated from North Summit High School in 1953 where he excelled in various sports. He then continued his education at Weber State University.  Larry proudly served in the United States Army from 1958-1960.

On October 14,1960 he married his eternal companion  Merle Carlson in the Salt Lake Temple. They just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary together. Larry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in various callings. He and Merle served together for five years at Temple Square as service missionaries, followed by three years at the Ogden Temple as ordinance workers. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad, followed by 38 years as an engineer for the Utah Department of Transportation. Larry also served as a member of the Morgan Lions Club for many years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, collecting antiques and following the high school sports. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren on the back porch. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with the love of his life out in the yard and fine dining at Chuck-A-Rama.

Larry is survived by his sweet heart Merle Durrant; Son, Gary; Daughters: Karen (Tod) Straw, Diane Giles. Grandchildren; Dallyn Durrant, Kristin(Matt) Webster, Shadd(Kacie) Straw, Shaneece (Dustin)Stewart, Nataya(Chad) Vlaanderen and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters, a granddaughter, Heather Straw and great grandson Hesston Straw.

Our family would like to thank the Morgan EMS, all the medical staff at Ogden Regional Medical Center, Atlas Hospice, and Walker Mortuary.  A special thanks to all our family, friends and neighbors who have reached out to us during this time.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Morgan 12th Ward Chapel (10 W. Young Street) Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

Interment will be at the South Morgan Cemetery.
