Joseph F. Tomilonus, Jr., 83, of Meriden, passed away on Oct. 17, 2021 at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. Born on May 2, 1938 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Mary (Misuraca) Tomilonus. Joseph worked for Pratt and Whitney for many years on the Clean Line maintaining engines. He was a member of the Bristol Auto Club and loved his ’69 Skylark and attending Classic Car shows around the state. He was also a longtime member of the PLAV in Meriden. Joe will be remembered for wearing his unusual, decorative, and funky hats. Joseph is survived by his four sons Michael, Todd, Joseph, and Troy Tomilonus; two daughters and sons-in-law Denise and Paul Dittrich and Kimberly and Raymond Murphy; grandchildren Emily, Matthew, Deanna, Megan, Joshua, Jordan, and several other grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Ann Gilbert. A memorial dinner is planned for Nov. 7, 2021 at the PLAV Hall, 193 East Main St., in Meriden, CT. The memorial dinner will begin at 3pm.
