Larry Irvin Chegus of Watson, SK passed away on October 18, 2021 in Humboldt, SK, at the age of 71. He was born on July 30, 1950 to William and Elsie Chegus in Shoal Lake, MB and married Jean Daum on October 17, 1970 in Shoal Lake, MB.  They had two children, Jennifer and Chris.

Larry worked for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in the communities of Broadview, Tuffnell and Jansen.  His career spanned more than 20 years and he not only bought grain, he won numerous sales awards.

Larry was an entrepreneur and salesperson.  Together with his wife Jean, they opened Jansen Services and Jaycee Video in Wynyard, SK and established Chegus RV Sales in 1994.  They specialized in used RVs, with the slogan ‘If we don’t have it, we’ll find it’.  This was the foundation for a successful family business that has spanned 27 years and continues today.  After retirement in 2018, he and Jean opened Adel’s Golf Carts.

Larry worked hard and played hard.  He loved life and laughter, fishing, and his family.  Maybe in that order… except when it came to his grandchildren – the sun rose and set for them.

Larry is survived by his wife Jean of Watson, SK; daughter Jennifer and her partner Donat, of Toronto, ON; son, Chris and his wife Melissa and grandchildren Devdan and Hailey of Watson, SK.

Larry had the biggest bellowing laugh. A wicked grin. The driest sense of humour that knew few boundaries. His presence filled a room and filled our hearts. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Flowers in the color of yellow would be appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made

to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Fund Box 1740 Humboldt, SK S0K 2A0.
