LELAND - Ronald Lee Hackleman, 83, of Leland, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at MediLodge of Leelanau with his loving famly at his side.    Ron was born Dec. 25, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Paul and Julia Hackleman.  In 1986 he married Kathleen Hackleman, who survives.   Ron retired in 2012 after 50+ years in the HVAC industry, including as owner of Zionsville (IN) Heating & Cooling for 21 years.  Throughout his life he enjoyed spending lesiure time and playing games with family and friends.  He was an active member of Sojourn Church where his smile and friendly demeanor will be missed.  Ron didn't know a stranger and to meet him would be to know his spirited humor and quick wit.  He loved to joke and to pull your leg, as anyone who encountered him could attest.   Ron is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Kathy, his children, Andrew Hackleman, Ronda (Jeff) Prewitt, Kimberly (Mike) Thompson, Tricia (Jim) Fortin, Barrett (Caroline) Cable; his siblings, Doris Coop, Mary Smith, Paul Hackleman, Kathy (Bill) Walden; his grandchildren, Kelsey Jo Hackleman, Hannah and Kaylie Fortin, Julia and Jessica Prewitt, Brooke and Quinn Thompson, Levi, Alex and Tabitha Cable.   Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Beechwood Cemetery of Leland.  Pastor Matt Herron will officiate.   Memorials may be directed to Ghana West Africa Missions, PO Box 2125, Decatur, AL 35602.   Please share condolences with Ron's family at www.martinson.info   Arrangements are with the Martinson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Leelanau.
