Jerry Stanley Kosowski Obituary

Jerry Stanley Kosowski, 83 passed away as the sun rose on Saturday, September 11, 2021. He was born to Stanley Kosowski and Josephine Berzinski on October 20, 1938, in Chicago, IL. In 1959 he began his career with the United States Navy and served for over 24 years. Just a few years into his enlistment, on September 22nd, 1962, he married the love of his life, Sandra Kosowski. Just under 10 years into their marriage they began their family with their two daughters, Suzanne and Shannon. His time in the Navy granted us many adventures of a lifetime, by living and vacationing around the world giving us experiences we still treasure today. One of which is when we loaded our van, Bessie, along with a family friend for a 2-week European tour visiting many iconic locations. Following his military service, he took positions as a professor at several colleges and was a programmer for the State of Arkansas. Jerry loved learning and studied many fields of interests from electronics to theology, philosophy, and even the Aramaic language. He volunteered for many years with the Covenant Hospice of Escambia County, Patriot Guard, and the USO. Jerry was a proud long-term member of the masonic lodge with the Scottish Rights and Zelica Grotto, as well as a member of the American Legion. Jerry was a natural jokester and political enthusiast. He enjoyed attending synagogue, studying the bible, playing, as well as working on the computer and handing out those dang pamphlets and jokes. In his last days he looked to the heavens and was greeted by his savior, Yeshua, his parents and his sister, Diane Kosowski, who passed away as a young girl. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Kosowski; daughters, Suzanne Kosowski Forester & Shannon Kosowski; and granddaughter, Hailey Pangburn. His interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Friday, October 22, 2021, meeting at 9:45 a.m. at Olive Baptist Church Warrington campus, 103 Winthrop Ave., Pensacola, FL 32507, and proceeding on base with the Patriot Guard for military honors with Rabbi Tokajer of Brit Ahm officiating. A celebration of life will be held at 02:00p.m. at Brit Ahm Messianic Synagogue, 6700 Spanish Trail, Pensacola, FL 32504. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the USO in honor of ETCM Jerry S. Kosowski.
