SUGAR GROVE, Va. Dorothy Louise “Dot” Peters, age 83, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at Rural Retreat Care Center. Dot was a loving wife, mom, nannie and friend. She will be remembered as a lady who always tried to do the right thing, and instilled Christian values into her children. Dot loved the Lord and was a life long member of the Church of God, a Sunday School teacher, and a Vacation Bible School leader. Her sweet, gentle, and loving way will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carson E. Peters, Sr.; parents, Joseph and Ruth Haga; four brothers and sisters. Dot is survived by her sons, Carson E. Peters, Jr. and Kathy of Sugar Grove, Va., and Bruce Peters and Cindy of Mobile, Ala. and Emory, Va.; sister, Edith Price of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren, Pete Peters of Marion, Va. and Heather Mueller of Roanoke, Va.; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Sean Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Springs Cemetery, 168 Blue Springs Road, Rural Retreat, Va. 24368. Everyone attending is asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
