Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Joycelyn I. Jeanis, 78, who passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 3:25 P.M. at Acadia St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point. Pastor Berl Adams, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Old Crowley Cemetery in Crowley. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 9:30 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Thursday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services. Survivors include four daughters, April Romine of Rayne, Rebecca Warriner of North Carolina, Henrietta Istre of Crowley and Glenda Hanks of Crowley; three sons, Russell Jeanis of Crowley, Richard Jeanis of Crowley, and Farrell and wife, Kattie Jeanis of Estherwood; two step-daughters, Sara Jeanis Conde of Kaplan and Marie Jeanis Alleman of Sunset; one sister, Mary Ann Leblanc of Corlwey; one brother, A.J. Istre of Kaplan; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Ms. Jeanis was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Chester Jeanis; her parents, Cesaire and Ouida M.
