Ola Lee Nelson, age 79, of Canton, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dean Ghorley officiating. Graveside services open to family and friends will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery in Waleska. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 19th from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, October 20th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home. Mrs. Nelson was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, housekeeping, being a caregiver and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Earl Nelson; son, David Nelson; parents, John and Agnes Rampley; brothers, Roy Rampley, Buck Rampley and Johnny Rampley; and sister, Annie Childers. Survivors include her six children, Darlene Fortner (William), Vickie Ghorley (Dean), Ricky Nelson (Helen), Patti Nations (Mark), Mickey Nelson (Terri) and Kristie Eubanks (Nelson); two brothers, Dan Rampley and Obie Rampley; three sisters, Mozella Childers, Rachel Champion and Mamie Childers; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alene and Max Padgett; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
