Evelyn Catherine Prather

Evelyn “Cathy” Prather, 69, passed away on October 17, 2021 in Piedmont, Alabama.

Born on January 24, 1952, she is the daughter of the late Herman Prather and the late Sara Jo Soulis. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Prather and Bruce Prather; and sister, Beth Jenkins.

Survivors include her daughter, Buffey Jo Ellis (Richard); son, Brandon Prather (Angela); grandchildren, Bridgett Poole (Cody), Nickolas De'Lia (Maddie), Danika Prather, and Noah Prather; sisters, Lynn Strickland, Patsy Haney, and Virginia Reaid; brothers, Terry Jenkins and David Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Poole, Noah Poole, Evelyn De'Lia, Rylie, and Benton De'Lia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Ronny Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at the funeral home.
