Mark was born in Houston, Texas on January 1, 1964, to his parents, Robert and Ruth Waldrop Stevenson. He graduated from New Caney High School, Class of 1982. He served our country for 22 years in the United States Navy, 1984-2006 and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He loved our country by serving across the globe on the USS Independence, USS Midway, USS Kittyhawk and was stationed in Guam, Hawaii, and Japan. After retiring from the US Navy, he was most recently employed with Coastal Flow. Mark enjoyed people. He enjoyed spending time and visiting with people from all over the world and especially cherishing his time with his daughter Megan. They worked almost daily on a variety of wood working projects at his house in the driveway or garage. He was a handy man and could do almost anything mechanical. Mark was very proud that his father’s family heritage was recently determined to be Natchitoches Tribe of Louisiana. Mark is survived by his wife of 34 years, Yuriko Stevenson, daughter Megan Stevenson, nieces Kim Sanders and Jennifer Powell, nephew Barrett Besser, brother-in-law Robert Besser, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, friends, neighbors, and navy brothers and sisters. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Waldrop Stevenson, his sisters, Donna Powell and Pam Besser and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe account will be set up to receive donations for Mark’s family and their continuing life without their husband and father.January 1, 1964 - October 15, 202101/01/196410/15/2021
