Roshalee Smith Jernigan

Mrs. Roshalee Smith Jernigan, 87, passed away Friday (October 15, 2021) at St. Mary’s Highland Hills Village in Watkinsville, GA. She was born in Waycross, GA to the late Twyman C. Smith, Sr. and Minnie Jordan Smith. She was a graduate of Waycross High School and a former member of Brooks United Methodist Church. Before moving to Watkinsville, GA a few years ago she attended Winona Park United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong member of the River Bridge Club, where they not only played cards, but also enjoyed trips to the beach and river. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J.W. “Jack” Jernigan; a son, Greg Jernigan; and seven siblings, Twyman Smith Jr, Carolyn Barber, Richard Smith, Gene Smith, Charles Smith, J.R. Smith, and Andrew Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Lynn Cooper (husband Jeff) of Bishop, GA; two sons, Ron Jernigan (wife Margie) of Cumming, GA and Ken Jernigan of Waycross; a daughter-in-law, Audrey Jernigan of Waycross; eight grandchildren, Adam Cooper, Anna Cooper, Xavier “Jordan” Jernigan, Leigh Ann Davis (husband Trey), Jackie Jernigan, Jessica Jernigan, Jennifer Jernigan, and Julianna Jernigan; five great grandchildren, Madison Jernigan, Houston Davis, Hannah Davis, Gracelyn Sweat, and Remi Sweat; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (October 20, 2021) at Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock.
