Carl Lester Clouter May 12th, 1943 – October 15th, 2021 It is with heavy hearts the family announce that Captain Klondike Clouter filed his last flight plan after a brave battle with cancer. Carl passed away at the the age of 78; on October 15th, 2021 at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander. Carl was predeceased by his Mother Mary, Father Thomas and brother Howard, brother-in-law’s Jeff Booth and Brian Rafuse; sister-in-law Brenda Quinton. Left to mourn but comforted with wonderful memories are his loving wife Norma, daughter Heather (Dennis), his three grandchildren Jonathan (Misty), Shantal (Zach) and Chelsie. Great-grandchildren Nicqo, Jade, Jaycee and Scarlet. His sister Joan, brothers Barry (Shirley), and Sheldon (Bev), sister-in-law’s Irene (Dave), Marion (Barry) and Jean (Larry), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carl loved and lived life to the fullest, and had many accomplishments. “ He trained in hand to hand combat, met Elvis, shared a stage with the Beatles, and piloted the sky to find the gold that started Fortune Minerals “. What a life. Born in Catalina, Carl’s family moved to Gander in 1949. He joined the army , served time in Germany, and was honourably discharged . He met Norma while on leave from the army. They were married December 1965. Have one daughter; Heather. In 1975 the family moved to the North West Terriories; his stepping stone to all that was accomplished in his life. He was a Pilot, Prospector, Sentencing Justice, and Coroner. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all. As per Carl’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Sunday, October 24th from 11:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. A sincere thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Dr. Blackie: for all you did, for who you are, we will be forever grateful. Arrangements entrusted through Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander – Carmanville.
