Jeanne S. Boyce

Jeanne S. Boyce, 91, of Middletown, wife of the late Edwin Boyce, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 16, 2021 at Apple Rehab of Middletown, with her family by her side. Born on May 20, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Tyne Santos (Snell) and Freeman Santos. Jeanne graduated from Hope High in Providence, Rhode Island in 1948 and graduated from the Rhode Island College of Education, earning her Bachelor of Education in 1952. Jeanne married her husband Edwin on June 20, 1953. Jeanne worked as a schoolteacher then the YMCA, and finished her working career at the Middlesex County Superior Court in Middletown for 13 years, retiring in June of 1995. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, cooking family meals during the holidays, traveling with her grandson David, spending time with family and friends, reading and watching TV. There wasn’t a puzzle on Wheel of Fortune she could not solve or a question on Jeopardy she did not know. Jeanne is survived by her son Craig and his wife Verna; her daughter Deborah Wexler; grandsons David A. Boyce, Jordon Bonner, Aaron Boyce, and Ethan Boyce; her granddaughter Stephanie Boyce; and her great grandson Aiden Bonner. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Richard Boyce; her daughter Laurie J. Boyce; her son-in-law Jacob Wexler; and her granddaughter Brianne-Lynn Boyce. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, on Wednesday, October 20th from 4 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 21st at 11 a.m. at Indian Hill Cemetery, 383 Washington St., Middletown. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. Jeanne’s family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab of Middletown, where she was a resident for four years, for the excellent care she received.
