William Evan Meredith Sr, 92, passed away peacefully on October 13th, 2021. Born in Jersey City he resided in Wallington for more than 50 years. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helene. Bill spent five years in the Navy during the Korean War. He was stationed off the coast of Japan as an Opticians Engineer. During his time on the ships he worked on a multitude of precision instruments. Following his time in the Navy he went right to work at RCA, where he was a mechanic. Bill eventually ended up at the United States Postal Service as a mechanic until his retirement in 1996. Bill and Helene were inseparable. They loved to travel and enjoyed showing the Country to their children through their camping trips up and down the east coast. When he wasn’t at work or repairing their home, Bill could be found fishing . It did not matter if he was fishing for trout in the local streams or striped bass fishing in the ocean, he loved the water. Bill was a family man and loved nothing more than his grandchildren. He found no greater joy than hearing about their day and making them laugh. He enjoyed telling old stories about his time in the Navy especially when he spent some time in Seattle. He was an avid NY Giants fan and enjoyed season tickets for many years. He will be missed dearly by; three children, Janet and her husband Patrick Thompson, Joanne and her husband Patrick Regan, William and his wife Gia; four grandchildren, Kelly and her husband Patrick Gutierrez, Max and his wife Krystina, Alexandra, and William; as well as their special Great Grandchild, Nora Regan. The family would also like to thank the Community at Brandywine at Mountain Ridge for giving Helene and Bill companionship and care for the past 8 years.
