Helen M. Smith

December 10, 1931 – October 13, 2021

On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, Helen M. Smith passed away at the age of 89 years with her children by her side. Helen was born on December 10, 1931, in Macoun, SK to George and Ludmila Kuchinka. She taught school in Khedive, SK where she met her husband. They moved to Regina, SK and she taught kindergarten for the rest of her teaching career.

Helen is survived by her brother, George (Ardelle) Kuchinka; son, Brian (Alvilda) Smith; daughter, Tracy Adams; grandchildren, Leslie Smith, Wade Smith, Vanna (Mattew) Casement, and Amanda Adams; six great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, George “El” Smith, whom she was married to for 56 years, and her sisters, Marion, Phyllis and Lorraine.

Her strong voice and wonderful sense of humor will be lovingly remembered. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her kindred spirit. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring of 2022 at the Regina Beach Cemetery.
