Roxie Ann Burgess was born August 17, 1945 to Thomas R Andrews and Betty J Banks Andrews. She passed from this life October 14, 2021. She received her education in Muskogee Schools. She married Vernon Allison in June, 1961, and to this union they had 2 children Beverly and Michael. After this marriage was dissolved she married the love of her life, Jerry Burgess, in July 1978. With this union she got bonus children; Larry, Dena and Jerry.

Roxie worked several jobs before joining the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 30 years of service. Roxie was the first female letter carrier in the City of Muskogee. She also worked with the Postal Service in Tulsa, Ft. Gibson, Checotah and Rentiesville.

Roxie was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Ft. Gibson, OK. She was a loving Christian woman.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Andrews, mother Betty Andrews and her son Michael Allison.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Jerry Burgess, sister Connie Smith, brother Ronnie Dollar. Children; Beverly Parris, Larry Burgess, Dena Wilson and Jerry Burgess. Grandchildren, Joey, Andy, Amber, Amanda, Aimee, Lauren, Jeffery, Samantha and Jayne. Great grandchildren; Alexia, Andrew, Addison, Connor Christopher, Izzy, Nolan, Stailee and Sawyer along with a host of great friends and family.

The Burgess family would like to thank the Ft. Gibson Nursing Home and Hometown Hospice for the loving care they gave our beloved Roxie.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday October 19, 2021 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Tommy Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee under the care and direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service of Muskogee. Viewing will be on Monday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
