Obituary
Charles L. Rudolph, 82, of Painesville, passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
Born Sept. 29, 1939, in Leesburg, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for 53 years.
Charles was a U.S. Air Force veteran, member of the American Legion in Painesville and former member of the Painesville Elks. He enjoyed boating, fishing, going to places in his RV, and was an avid reader.
Charles was the proud co-founder and owner of the Cleveland Closet Company in Mentor and ran the business along with his son and grandson for over 30 years.
He was the loving father of William C. Rudolph, Jeff S. Rudolph (Andrea Rapaszky), Kimberly R. Murphy and Kristy R. (Greg) Knack; cherished grandfather of Cameron Rudolph (Christy Todd), Caitlyn (Cody) Mackey, Charlie Knack, Clara Knack, Sarah Strauss and Kathryn Strauss; dear brother of Dale (Marilyn) Rudolph; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his loving companion, Saundra L. (nee Utterback) Rudolph.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene (nee Wallover) Rudolph; parents, Kenneth M. and Flora B. (nee Tharpe) Rudolph; and brother, Donald (Esther, dec.) Rudolph.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Mentor Cemetery. (Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.)
